• Question: how long does it take to make an engine part

      Great question ๐Ÿ™‚ this depends on if we are making a brand new part or if we have made thousands of them before.

      If we know how to make the part, it will take about 6 weeks to make it in total.

      If it’s a new part, there will always be things to improve (things are never perfect first time in engineering) so it will take much longer. We call this ‘development’ of a part. It can take as much as 2 years to develop a part.

      Did you know that there are about 18,000 different parts in one aeroplane engine?! The big boxes of lego you get (do you have any lego?) usually have about 800 pieces of lego in them…

      So that’s 18000รท800 = 22.5. The same as 22 and a half boxes of lego!
