• Question: How long does it take to program a gps for an aeroplane

      well, GPS isn’t very complicated any more – if you buy a GPS chip, it’ll probably work straight out of the box. Not only will it tell you where you are in terms of North and East, but it’ll tell you your altitude too!

      This is a brilliant question, it would not take long to program a GPS for aeroplane navigation as it’s really similar to those you might have seen in a car. Though GPS in planes is a hot topic after flight MH370 went missing over the ocean. Aeroplanes do have GPS, but air traffic control do not currently get automatic aircraft position reporting from GPS. The system currently has to depend on radar 🙂 this may change in the future though!
