Hmm, well I think it was trying to work out if the tyres were going to explode at another race after they exploded at a race in America in 2008. Luckily they didn’t explode again that year!

My first ever project was modelling a switch for a helicopter laser. The helicopter uses lasers and radar for navigation. Whenever I see an Apache helicopter in the sky or on TV, I have a daft grin on my face because I remember it being my first real engineering job 🙂

My very first job was to look at the inlet of the Bell-Boeing V22 Osprey engine. You might know this airplane because it’s very unique. It has two engines that drive propellers and it takes off from the ground like a helicopter, with the rotors spinning over your head (if you imagine that you’re the pilot inside). Then, once it has taken off the ground, it tilts the engines 90 degrees so that now the propellers are in front of you (you’re still the pilot inside) and it flies like an airplane. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen!
